His distinctive nickname originated from clients affectionately referring to him as "papi" due to his Cuban heritage, which evolved into "Tatu Papi." The "Champagne" part comes from his admiration for DRAKE, inspiring the name CHAMPAGNE TATU PAPI. Raised in the vibrant Latino/Chicano hip-hop of Northeast Los Angeles and the black & grey tattoo hub of East Los Angeles, he takes pride in calling L.A. home. Surrounded by a wealth of artistic influences from local and renowned artists, he developed a deep passion for the arts. It’s safe to say he was "born to make art!" A self-proclaimed comic book enthusiast, movie lover, sci-fi aficionado, and cartoon fan, his fascination with animation and comics has fueled his creativity.
